Would You Like Jail With That? Fast Food Bandit Faces Years In Prison Chow Line.

TOPEKA, KAN. – A Topeka man pleaded guilty in federal court here today to seven robberies at local businesses, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said Friday.

Joshua Alexander Musgraves, 27, Topeka, pleaded guilty to seven counts of robbery.

Musgraves' crime spree began at the Dennison State Bank in southwest Topeka on December 10, 2016. He then robbed the Topeka Plato's Closet in January 2017. But Musgraves soon gave up his status as a bank robber and apparel thief for greasier pursuits.

On January 20, 2017, Musgraves bucketed the North Topeka Kentucky Fried Chicken. In March, he had it his way at Topeka's California Ave. Burger King, then Shamrock Shaked-up the S. Kansas Ave. McDonalds.

Musgraves then set his sights on Lawrence, getting fresh at a Subway on April 3, and carrying out from the Wing Stop on Louisiana St. the very next day.

His crimes against fast food may land him in the cooler for quite a while.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 25, 2021. Both parties have agreed to recommend a sentence of no less than nine years and no more than 12 years in federal prison.

McAllister commended the Topeka Police Department, the Lawrence Police Department, the FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag for their work on the case.
