I want you to know that I support all aspects of law enforcement and those doing the job whether the be a local, county or state LEO. Defunding is ridiculous and the most absurd idea I have ever heard of. There would be utter chaos in the streets, in our businesses and in our neighborhoods.
Our Justice System isn't perfect, and I don't know if it ever could be. But it must strive to be fair and impartial, not guilty until proven otherwise. If elected, I would not hesitate to speak out and do what was necessary to ensure our law enforcement personnel stay properly trained and have the best equipment to conduct their duties. I felt the community policing concept was having a positive affect in our society. In talking to voters while going door to door, I listen to the parent's stories of how the police officers in schools are having a positive influence on our school children. Why in the world would we want to change something that seems to be working?
I would also do my best to ensure that laws created, or those currently in force, unequivocally treat all members of society the same. There is no division of human beings based on race, creed, religion, rich or poor. I am Catholic, and firmly believe God has created all of us in His own image. And being so, we are called to treat each other with respect and dignity, which everyone deserves.
I want to thank the folks who are showing their support for law enforcement and those willing to do what they can to keep law and order to protect our American way of life. May our Lord keep us all safe and out of harm's way. Thank you for all that you do.
All the best, may God bless you all,
State Representative candidate, 58th District
